I thought about this yesterday that if I was pregnant I would be half way through by now! Charles and I were just talking about how we found out that we were having Cameron around this time last year right after our Mexico trip in September 2011. It is mind blowing how much Cameron has grown in the past 60 weeks from time of conception until now.
Cameron is growing like crazy and changing every week. He is now enjoying his excersaucer and can figure out how to reach out for the toys. He is talking much more and is soooo close to rolling over from his back to his stomach. I think it will be any day. He also is drooling more and more as well as chewing on anything he can get his hands on (no teeth yet though).
For the last week and a half he has started sleeping 8 hours straight so this has made my life much easier. I only have to wake up once at night around 3 or 4am and he will sleep after I feed him until about 6:45am!!! In total he is sleeping 11-12 hours each night.
In early September we joined a West Seattle PEP’s group which is a way to meet other family’s who live in the neighborhood with children the same age. We meet every Tuesday for 12 weeks from 6:15-8:15pm and we rotate going to someone’s house in the group. So far we have had three meetings and we talk about various subjects. We have talked about sleeping, eating, our birth stories and a few other topics that came up. I am looking forward to building relationships with other families in our area.
At Cameron’s 4 month check up the doctor told us we could start trying rice or oatmeal cereal. So we started that about two weeks ago. He hasn’t quite figured it out but he loves it! He has been more constipated with the cereal even though we are offering it to him just a few times a week, only about a tablespoon at a time. He used to be a 1-2 times a day pooper and now he poops once a day or sometimes skips a day. I have also made more baby food. My freezer is full of plums, applesauce, sweet potatoes, zucchini, green beans and squash. Hopefully when we do start introducing more solids he likes them all.
For those of you wondering, yes Cameron has a Halloween costume and is going to be a dinosaur. We are going to the pumpkin patch next weekend to take pictures. So I will post those soon.
