Christmas and Updates

Sorry it’s been awhile since I last updated the blog. Time goes by way too fast these days and Cameron is growing like a weed. I swear he gets bigger everyday. Cameron is now 7 1/2 months old and has two teeth. His two front bottom teeth came in and so far no complaints.  I honestly did not even know they were there until he was chewing on my finger one day around Thanksgiving and after Christmas again I found tooth number two the same way.

He is eating a ton. I feel like he is never full these days. He drinks a 7 oz bottle about every three hours and is eating three solid meals per day. I was off for 9 days around Christmas and New Years so it was really nice being able to spend time relearning his routines. He is eating all kinds of things and seems to be fairly picky about vegetables (ever though these were the first food I started with) so I have to mix them in with his oatmeal cereal or fruit. He LOVES the sweet stuff. His favorite food right now is squash and apple sauce. He also really likes the rice crackers and enjoys self feeding. I am also still making the majority of his solid foods and I just discovered silicone ice cube trays…genius invention! These have made making food so much easier.DSC_1113DSC_0114

While I was home with him over the holidays, my milk production increased so I got to restock my freezer supply of breastmilk. You may know this but if not, the more I am around Cameron the more milk I make. Even though I pump at work the human body is smart and does not produce nearly as much. I also find that eating certain foods effects my milk production. For instance the more protein I eat in the morning for breakfast really helps increase my supply.

As for Christmas, we spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day at my parents house. It was so much fun having Cameron around for the family. Everyone was so generous. We are in the process of trying to find a toy box for all of his toys. It is amazing how much he got for Christmas! Our living room has exploded as well as his closet. I had to do three loads of laundry to wash all of the new clothes. Cameron was more interested in the paper and boxes, not to much what was inside. It was pretty cute to watch his excitement.

Next weekend we are taking Cameron to Mission Ridge while I go skiing and Charles is going to take Cameron snowshoeing with my parents. It should be fun. I will post more pictures.

6 Month Update

I’m a little late in posting his 6 month stats but here they are along with some fun pictures.

6 Months

4 Months

Birth

Weight 17 lbs 12.5 oz (51.3%) 15 lb 2 oz (44%) 7 lb 9.5 oz
Height 28” (90.7%) 26” (84%) 20.5”
Head Circumference 17.5 (77.7%) 42.5 cm (74%) n/a

At Cameron’s last doctors appointment he got more shots including his flu shot. He did well and the doctor said that he is doing great!

He is continuing to eat and explore solids. Some days he is really into eating and others he could do without. I assume that one of these days he will enjoy eating more. He is still breast fed and I feel so great that I have made it this far. I am not making as much milk as he drinks anymore so I have to supplement with about 30-40% formula. My goal is still to make it to one year.

Exciting news this week…Cameron got his first tooth. He is getting a front bottom tooth and seems to be taking it well. Hopefully all of them will be this way. I think its wishful thinking though.

Sleep is going much better in the past week or so. He’s really starting to like sleeping through the night and I am enjoying the break!

Cameron & Frankie

Jodi took some great pictures several weeks ago and I just had to share because she did such a great job! Frankie is two weeks younger than Cameron and they are going to be best buds.

Happy Thanksgiving

Charles and I hosted Thanksgiving again this year. We were going to go to Spokane originally however, our plans changed due to Charles’s work schedule. Charles smoked a turkey and a ham this year both of which were AMAZING!!! Here are some of the pictures.

Dad was in the hospital this year getting his second hip replaced. He is hoping to be back up on the slopes in the Spring. Since Dad always carves the turkey no one in our family knew how. Charles and I watched a YouTube video and he is now a pro.

Happy 6th Months
